The problem

There is no shortage of people writing about storytelling. There is an enormous shortage of people who can say precisely what storytelling does to a business, and then prove it. The category was crowded at the top with inspiration and empty at the bottom with method.

Competing inside the term “storytelling” meant fighting every marketing blog on earth for a keyword with no commercial intent. That is a losing position, and no amount of content volume fixes it.

The strategic move

Rather than compete for a saturated term, I named a discipline: narrative engineering. Storytelling is the art. Narrative engineering is the practice of building narrative deliberately, as a system, with inputs and outputs you can measure.

Naming a category is the highest-leverage move available in positioning, and also the riskiest, because a term nobody searches for is worth nothing. So the site was built to do both jobs at once: own the new term outright, and capture existing demand through the questions people already ask around it.

The build

Next.js with Sanity as the content backbone, so publishing cadence is never blocked on a deploy. Two separate properties, one Hebrew and one English, each with its own entity graph rather than one site with a translation layer bolted on.

That distinction is the whole game. A machine-translated mirror gets treated as duplication. Two properties with genuinely localized argument, examples and internal linking get treated as two authorities. Hreflang, canonical rules and an llms.txt manifest tie them together without collapsing them into one.

The result

Narrative engineering returns this work at position one globally, and the English property is compounding at over 50% growth quarter on quarter.

The wider point is the one this practice rests on. The positioning decision and the technical execution were the same decision, made by the same person, on the same afternoon. A strategist would have named the category and handed over a deck. A developer would have built a fast site for the wrong term.
